FEMALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION
PERCEPTION AND IMPACT ON QUALITY OF LIFE

Introduction: The lack of awareness about their own sexuality, lack of sexual response, particularly on orgasm, added to marital conflict trigger severe emotional problems in women, which lead to the change in their sexual response. Objective: To investigate the perception and the impact that sex brings to the quality of life of women. Methodology: This study was conducted from September 2014 to February 2015, in a family clinic in Rio de Janeiro, RJ. 300 women with a mean age of 36 years. For data collection was used semi-structured interview. For data analysis was used Qualisoft 2013 and Excel. Results: From the
analysis of the questionnaires, we observed that almost 10 % of respondents have never experienced orgasm. Over 20% feel pain during sex, and of these, 35% did not seek medical help. Approximately 70% feel or have felt their decreased sexual desire. 60 % believe that sex interferes with quality of life, causing changes in the mood, well-being and causing low self-esteem. About 70% of respondents have already made sexual practices without being with desire.
