Abstract

The history of the understanding of paraphilias has been mixed up with moral views, even within science or using it not helping behavior modifications of people that want to make those changes. From Cognitive-behavior approach in psychology we are able to apprehend thought mechanisms used to distort reality and maintain such behaviors known as paraphilias. Understanding those mechanisms enable the possibility of changes e allow development of other erotic preferences that are adapted to their reality. In this article the reader will find the descriptions of the cognitive distortions used by paraphilic patients that wants to modify their sexual behaviors they live.
