The author describes the concepts for Hypoactive Sexual Drive, Reduction of Sexual Desire, Female Hypoandrogenic Syndrome and Late Male Hypogonadism. He calls attention to the frequency and the symptomatology of those illness. The validity of the physical evaluation is analyzed. The author also makes generals considerations about the action of androgenic drugs on the sexual human behavior. For women he mentions the difficulties in prescribing the right dosage of androgen and its use in medical practice. The author concludes that sexual function is very complex and not simply a consequence of hormonal deficiency. The right measurement of levels testosterone is still a challenge in medical practice due to the low sensibility ofcurrents commercial evaluation kits for women. And, finally, he reaffirms that the diagnose of Hypoactive Sexual Desire, when related to the hypoandrogens syndrome, is yet largely based on clinical symptomatology.
