The present work had the objective of knowing how adults carriers of congenital blindness face theirs youth and the manifestations of sexuality. Six adults, from the Jonathas Telles de Carvalho Foundation in Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil, were interviewed and submitted to a self-valuation scale. The results showed that: 1) the youth experiences in the congenital blinds are similar to those with normal vision, plenty of dreams, wishes and fantasies; 2) the blind adolescents have little information on puberty body changes and sexuality; 3) adults carriers of congenital blindness have later beginning on sexual and affectionate life. This data let to the conclusion that the manifestations of sexuality are independent of visual capacity but fear and prejudice have more strength then sexuality manifestation. Finally, the Authors point out that to live one's sexuality is a right of every person.
