The spontaneous or induced abortion has emotional and physical repercussions for women ambivalent affecting quality of life. This situation experienced by women is permeated by feelings of pain, anxiety, guilt, sadness and low self-esteem (BORSARI, 2012). This article deals with is a qualitative-quantitative research profile of women lifting users of a Family Clinic, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro-RJ. With 359 women, residents of neighborhoods Padre Miguel and Realengo, with an average age of 36 years. For data collection was used semistructured interviews with questions about socio-economic situations, sexual
health, sexual education, public health, daily life, relationship. From the analysis of the general questionnaires noted the need for a broader discussion on the impact of abortion as a woman’s life. Of the women interviewed, 29% reported having suffered a miscarriage, the respondents have suffered, it was discovered that they are between 1 to 7 miscarriages. These women had little guidance for the use of contraceptive methods as well as low self-esteem. An alternative to minimize this situation is the best applicability of existing and necessary reform policies, to serve as an incentive for people to get information about sexual health and ensure access to contraceptive methods and educational materials, and promote sex education increases questioning adolescents about early sexual initiation and stimulates awareness of adult decision making being aware of the potential damage posed by a reckless sexual practices.
