FEMALE SEXUALITY AFTER VAGINAL DELIVERY

Childbirth is a memorable experience in woman's life and changes several aspects of life, including sexuality. Some changes may be considered physiological alterations for the period, but others acan be considered sexual dysfunctions. This study aimed to analyze the return to sexual life after vaginal delivery, possible difficulties faced by women and sexual dysfunctions in the puerperium. That was a qualitative research using semi-structured interviews with primiparous women who experienced a vaginal childbirth. Data analysis was based on content analysis. We observe that the childbirth experience can influence female sexuality and that there may be sexual dysfunctions in the form of pain, low lubrication and/or libido.
