GASLIGHTING AS A MECHANISM OF CONTROL AND DOMINATION

This study aims to analyze the concept of gaslighting, understood as a form of psychological violence directed mainly against women. It is noteworthy that this practice, by manipulating the victims' perception of reality, reinforces gender hierarchies and patriarchal structures. Therefore, this article seeks to inform and discuss this type of psychological violence, highlighting the importance of raising awareness, strengthening public policies and the role of mental health professionals in supporting victims and confronting the cycle of violence.
