This article is a reflection upon the condition of women/ of being a woman in contemporary society according to some theorists such as: Moita Lopes, Guacira Louro, Agambem, Bell Hooks, Silviano Santiago; addressing questions of contemporaneity, listening to the marginalized, Queer Theory, transgression of frontiers “generally speaking” (in life, in education, of normalization, of conceptual norms and conducts). Theories which point issues such as imbrication of power; differences and inequality and put forward questions about modernity). Beyond the utilization of the theories, this is a reflection about the situation of women in the contemporary world; utilizing my perception as a woman in the workforce, who utilizes ‘devices’ and seeking knowledge, as a way of constructing a situated way of discussion. Women are placed in a situation of marginality. The contemporary question of reinvention social life; of forms of producing knowledge, besides collaboration towards the opening of social alternatives based on, and containing, the voices of those who are on the margins.
