Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the theme of sexuality in the formation of the psychologist in Brazil. The field research took place in two stages: first, a course on the complaints of female sexual dysfunction to work in the office. At this stage participated five professionals working in the clinic. After the course, they were supervised and guided by six months to assist in the use of content, solve doubts or difficulties. After this period, they said they did not feel able to meet sexual problems. In the second stage, interview was conducted with one of these psychologists with the technique of “Life Story”, to investigate possible links between difficulties encountered in practice and their experiences during childhood and adolescence. The results allowed us to consider that sex education deficiency at home and at school, plus the frustrated personal experiences and partners without sexual abilities, reinforced the difficulties and the lack of preparation of professional about sexuality with their patients.
