CAMPUS SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Abstract

This work aimed to shed light on the campus sexual violence issue, in view of the subject’s recent emergence in Brazilian universities, as well as the acknowledgment of its relevance to the full exercise of women’s human rights. Have been gathered previous studies addressing sexual violence and the specific features of sexual victimization of college students, and paralleled the results obtained in North American colleges to Brazilian general sexual violence collected data, in order to outline discrepancies and similarities between the two scenarios and anticipate possibilities and handling strategies.
