AFFECTIVE AND SEXUAL RELATIONS BETWEEN GAYS

A qualitative phenomenological research investigated how gay men over forty years mean their sexual experiences in the construction of their sexual love maps, their levels of satisfaction, their practices love, sex and the emergency of news styles relationships. We interviewed thirty gay men being aged 43 to 58 years. The interviews were taped and transcribed. Was used for the analysis of the interviews a combination of Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2004; FRANCO, 2007) and the proposal of Giorgi (1985, 1972). Were prepared and analyzed the following units of meaning: the discovery of the difference a burden to carry; the search for the “tribe” and the happiness of finding; visibility or invisibility to face a dilemma; traditional stable relationships or a new “style of life in the relationships”?
