Abstract

This work is cut out of the thesis developed in the Post-Graduate Stricto Sensu in Education: “Sex education in schools: tensions and pleasures in the pedagogical practice of teachers of Science and Biology”. Through semi-strucctured taped interviews, the data were obtained with six of Science and Biology teachers from five schools. The interviews were analyzed qualitatively – analysis of content – and established categories a posteriori. The results suggest that sexuality is still supported in the medical-hygienist conceptions and moral religious dogmatic; a significant portion of undergraduate courses is limited in pedagogical paradigms technicality. We recommend urgent evaluation of curriculum that sing an anthropological vision of the human being multidimensional, where sexuality can not be omitted/dichotomized; besides the necessity to implement continuing education that enables the work of an emancipatory sex education where people can have the experience of sexuality more independent and happy.
