Abstract

This article proposes a reflection on the experience of conjugality in polyamorous relationships. With the changes in the dynamics of the relationships and inserted in the current globalized world that we live in today, it is necessary the knowledge and the contact with the recent social demands with regard
to the understanding and the delineation of the polyamory. Polyamory emerged as a new mode of loving relationship, being a specific alternative to non-monogamy. It is a relationship orientation in which it is believed to be possible and acceptable to love many people and to maintain multiple intimate relationships in a consensual way. Conjugal relationships are constructed from a perspective of increasing intimacy, what is characterized by the need to create a joint space through which the spouses can live from frank dialogues, expanding their knowledge about themselves. Conjugality in the Polyamory has some peculiarities of this conjugal arrangement although it presents many similarities with characteristics found in monogamous relationships. I believe, therefore, that as we search and deepen in this still little known mode of relationship we will be able to work with issues that have become part of the current relationship scenario
