The discussion on "Sexual Health" has been the strategy chosen by the World Health Organization as a reaction to the emergence of HIV and in response to the greater sexual openness in Western societies. Once recognized the multiple links between sexual health, physical health and psychosocial well-being, the discussions about sexual health should have priority in the Primary Health Care. But health services and professionals do not respond satisfactorily to this expectation, the medical care approach favors the physical examination and has a negative correlation with health promotion, where the aspects of sexuality should be addressed. We propose another approach that allows the overcoming of hegemonic biomedical model through health care with postures that enhance communication and the clinical encounter.
