We point out the use of psychological tests and questionnaires, sexological scales and inventories for evaluation and treatment in sexuality. Describing the development of a series of Sexuality Inventories specifically used in male and female sexual dysfunctions, we refer to the other questionnaires and sexual scales useful for the psychosexological evaluation of sexual complains. The aim of the use of questionnaires and tests are presented: - to allow a diagnosis of psychological aspects; - to allow planning psychotherapeutic process; - to allow recognize other sexual problems besides the main complain; - permit a way to evaluate the sexual psychotherapy to be followed; - to easy adhesion to the psychotherapeutic process. We conclude that the use of tests, questionnaires and inventories can not be done without a underlying theoretical support, nor without a concomitant interview, and be part of a psychotherapeutic process that validate this use.
