Abstract

Though the transformation that occurred during last century caused the woman to demand the right of pleasure, one finds patients – in clinical practice – whose problematical condition is centered around sexual dissatisfaction. In the face of fear of risking her selfesteem and the relationship the woman makes use of the strategy of orgasm simulation. This research aims at identifying the variables that cause the woman – in fact – to simulate orgasm during sexual intercourse. In order to attend to the proposed objective a structural home interview was used and a proper form to register the collected data. Two hundred women with sexual experience participated in the research, all residents of the city of Governador Valadares. One noticed that despite simulating orgasm the women feel competent and fulfilled. It was also observed that when such behavior becomes a regular practice the sentiment of love towards the partner reduces gradually.
