Abstract

This is a qualitative study that had as objective knows close to couples as the sexual practice is exercised after the woman to have had the breast cancer, being used as theoretical referential the gender relationships and, as methodology, the Grounded Theory. Through interviews with nine couples, we obtained the data that, after analysis, they allowed the creation of two categories; 1 - the mamma after the cancer: a glance: organ that was far away from the sexual caresses, 2 - The exercise of the spouses' sexuality: the men told that the sexual desire didn't decrease by the wife's disease, but the sexual relationships, did. The data allowed to get to a central category that generated the theoretical model: couples' sexuality that lived the breast cancer: breaking myths.
