HOMOAFETIVO METAPHORS FOR LIVING TOGETHER
MEANINGS ATTRIBUTED TO CONJUGAL RELATIONSHIP BY A GAY COUPLE

Social changes has made patriarchal family pattern flexible and have generated new familiar arrangements such as stable homoaffective partnerships. However, brazilian scientific literature is still very incipient regarding to contributions to understanding homoaffective families peculiarities and to offering guidelines to health professionals. This study presents meanings attributed to conjugal relationship by a couple of homosexual men. lt aims at offering descriptive information that may help health practices to become aware of homosexual people demands. An open- ended interview was done with an adult couple of homosexual men engaged in a four-year relationship. The interview was audio recorded and fully transcribed afterwards. lts content was submitted to a thematic content analysis that tried to identify which metaphors the couple used to describe the meanings they attribute to their relationship.
