It is crucial that all health care workers detain information to face AIDS epidemic. Condon use, syringe exchange programs and voluntary counseling and testing must be implemented while we wait for new drugs and vaccine. Our efforts in HIV prevention should be maximized once we recognize AIDS as a deadly disease. We must fight prejudice against HIV infected individuals because it only increases people suffering. Making early diagnosis and starting antiretroviral treatment are life savings strategies and should be offered to all our patients.
