Abstract

Nowadays orgasm has been one of the most valued needs by women. Occidental cultural tradition not value female orgasm until the middle of the twentieth century, about the sixties, when aroused the counter culture movement which included feminism. Right to the pleasure was one of the vindications of this movement besides sex without procreation. Orgasm became the valued aim by the women. But it isn't true that every woman achieves orgasm and some women fakes it for different reasons. This paper intends to discuss the link among female orgasm, the culture and the way that women use to reduce the conflict between the valued social behavior, symbol of female functionality and their real feeling that sometimes does not include orgasm.
