Sexual violence suffered by women is a public health problem. According to the United Nations, it is estimated that one-third of women in the world have already been victims of violence. In addition, there is a strong relationship between cognitive decline, sexual dysfunction and the maintenance of posttraumatic stress disorder in women victims. For this reason, the objective of this study was to evidence the Psychology, more specifically neurosciences, look at the sexual practices of women through a bibliographical review. Discussing the sexual life of women victims of sexual violence has proved to be a problem for this research, due to the scarcity of psychological analyzes, especially those inserted in the scope of Cognition and Neuroscience. However, the data found revealed a concern, mainly in other countries, to return these women to a satisfactory sexual life. A reflection on the need for further studies through Cognition and Neurosciences is especially appropriate, especially about the development of methodologies to address the needs of these women and means of improving quality of life in general, and in terms sexual life in a specific way.
