IMPACTO DE LA PANDEMIA DE COVID-19 EN LA SEXUALIDAD

Introducción: El surgimiento de la Pandemia del COVID-19 obligó a adoptar medidas de confinamiento y aislamiento social en todo el mundo. Estas medidas condicionaron así una amenaza a la salud física y mental de la población, y poco se sabe sobre el impacto de esta nueva realidad vivida en la calidad de vida sexual de la población. El objetivo de este trabajo es revisar la literatura sobre el impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19 en la sexualidad de hombres y mujeres. Métodos: Búsqueda bibliográfica en la base de datos Pubmed, utilizando los términos MESH “COVID-19” Y “comportamiento sexual”. Se buscaron todos los artículos publicados en portugués o inglés, desde el 1 de enero de 2020 hasta el 17 de abril de 2021. Se encontraron un total de 147 artículos, de los cuales 21 fueron incluidos. Resultados: Varios estudios revelaron un aumento del deseo sexual durante los períodos de confinamiento y aislamiento social, pero una disminución de la intimidad, la frecuencia de las relaciones sexuales y la calidad de vida sexual. Las prácticas de masturbación y el uso de pornografía aumentaron globalmente en los períodos bajo análisis. Discusión: Se evidenciaron cambios en los hábitos de vida sexual de los hombres y mujeres encuestados, en diferentes aspectos. A nivel mundial, desde el inicio de la Pandemia del COVID-19, se ha producido un impacto negativo en la calidad de la salud sexual de la población. Conclusión: Un cambio en la calidad de vida sexual constituye una amenaza para la salud mental de la población. El Médico de Familia juega un papel importante en la detección de estos cambios, que rara vez se abordan espontáneamente en el contexto de una consulta.
