INTERFERENCE IN SEXUALITY OF WOMEN DEVELOPMENT OF UNIVERSITY HEALTH AREA

The sexual development of women involves the integration of sexual activity in a capacity for intimacy and emotional involvement. To enter the university, many young people experience new experiences. In this context, often begin sexual risk behaviors. Even knowing contraceptive methods, initiate sexual life without protection. This study aims to identify the profile of women’s academic population, tracing the possible interference in the development of their sexuality. The sample was composed by academic health area courses at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology (IFRJ) during the II Fair PET: Sexuality, sexual education. We used a semistructured questionnaire about lifestyle, women’s health and sexual satisfaction. We had representation of 31 students, with a mean age of 24.8 years. 70.9% have alcohol as the drug of higher consumption. Sexual initiation occurred between 15 and 19 years. 70.97% are sexually active and only 29.3% use condoms in all sexual relations. Most shows have good self-esteem, but 22.58% did not feel attractive to males. With regard to sexual satisfaction, 74.2% take initiative for intercourse, however, 61.29% claim not to get excited and do not have sexual fantasies. Nonetheless, 74.2% have orgasm and sexual feel satisfied. Even with higher level of education, the youth neglect to use condoms when they should have minimum knowledge on the subject and maintain healthy lifestyle habits, since they have training in health. there is low self-esteem among the young people do not feel sexually attractive. sex education is needed, aimed at guiding young people about the risk behaviors and fundamental work self-esteem.
