Considering the problems evolving adolescents' sexual behavior (such as the high level of undesired pregnancy; the incidence of abortions and the increase on the cases of sexual diseases), this study aimed at verifying if the sexual education provided by the school and de family - the social institutions pointed out as the best to realize this kind of orientation - influences the sexual behavior adopted by adolescents. lt was applied, accidentally, open-ended questionnaires in 149 students of an university located in São Paulo state. Although 79,9% of the students pointedout that they had received a satisfied sexual education, it wasn't all of them who made use of preventive methods, on their first sexual relation, and that still makeuse of it, in their actual sexual relations. Besides, some of these students demonstrated the "magical thought" that they don't have the risk on getting pregnant or on getting a sexual disease.
