In the international migratory’s context, the emigrant’s wife who remains in the country seems to go back in the field of the social attributions. Many, in the partner’s absence, reassume entirely the mother and housewife’s role leaving their woman’s side numb. Aiming to describe the changes suffered in the woman’s routine out coming from the going of the partner abroad as an emigrant, 4 (four) of them were profoundly studied. It was observed that the isolation in marriage is responsible for situations regarding significant affective and sexual needs. In the “unsuitableness” of a wider social participation, they restrict themselves to the housewife’s role, having as the only goal taking care of the children, home, and, at the most, taking care of the couple’s investments. The absence of the husbands is more felt when their children become disobedient or present some health problem.
