Abstract

It is undeniable the importance of the emancipatory and self-sufficiency movements, including, the feminisms. Fostering debates, reflections and establishing dialogue space to nourish emerging themes which are considered taboo, oppressed and neglected, either by essentialist systems or by speeches which echo violence in order to bring down others, abuse cultures, basic human rights negation, these identity movements legitimate those who suffer with repressive policies and invisibility. This is the perfect scenario for us to reflect about the masculinities which establish segregation of these identities, leaning on privileges and body gender labeling, desires and subjectivities, but also, as power politics. Looking over masculinities is looking at the toxic masculinities and relations of domination. Alexithymic masculinities. Aknowledging they are not stagnant and untouchtable, but reveal pluralities and are in utmost transformation. There’s the man, tired and distressed, scarred by patriarchal totalitarianism and not supported by it anymore, recognizing himself in this exploration context, arbitrariness and violences, no longer acknowledges these conditions. It is facing the barrier breakings, among colonial patriarchalism, emancipatory masculinities and intersectionalities within womanhood that we find new perspectives on being a man and the criticism on a masculinity detached from hegemonies, learning that other identities and protagonisms must be respected.
