HETEROSSEXUAL ANAL INTERCOURSE

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to study heterosexual anal intercourse, a practice that is present in the first available descriptions of human sexuality. It is one of the non-conventional present performances that has been increasing among heterosexual couples, even though it is the most risky for the transmission of the HIV virus. The research was made with 70 women, with ages varying from 14 through 59, all patients of gynecologic ambulatory. The patients responded to semi-structured interviews, with the purpose of evaluating the frequency of sexual practices (vaginal, oral and anal); the motivations for the acceptance or rejection of anal intercourse; who suggested and the pleasure obtained with anal intercourse. Results reveal that 61,4% of the sample had practiced anal sex, which happened in every age bracket. Generally, the man suggested anal intercourse (78%), but 10% of the women also shared the initiative. The alleged reason for the first anal relationship was primarily to please the partner (81,4%), though curiosity was a reported reason for one out of these women (25,6%). Anal intercourse was maintained as a practice by 48% of these women, equally to please the partner (82,3%) and in search of personal pleasure (44,1% of these women, 21,4% of the total). The use of condoms among the women who practiced anal intercourse was reported in only 18,6% of the cases. It is possible to conclude that the interviewing method favored spontaneous and truthful answers, and portrayed the formation of certain feminine stereotypes, at the same time showing that women are more curious and attempting to achieve pleasure in other, non-conventional forms.
