This study aims to present some aspects related to the dialogue about sexuality in the communication between parents and teenagers, from the point of view of twelve parents, civil servants of a school in the city of Cacoal/RO. Semi-structured interviews were used and the collected contents were approached by Discourse Analysis guided by Orlandi. The analyzes indicate that parents elaborate the discourse on sexuality addressing and silencing themes under the guidelines of their own genders and that of their children. The study demonstrates that the parental difficulties manifested by the interviewees refer to themes of sexuality that go beyond the traditional – pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
