COMPETENCIAS CULTURALES PARA LA ATENCIÓN DE LA SALUD DE LAS MINORÍAS SEXUALES Y DE GÉNERO
UNA REVISIÓN INTEGRADORA DE LA LITERATURA

La literatura internacional destaca los riesgos adicionales y problemas de salud que afectan a las Minorías Sexuales y de Género (MSG), y aporta datos sobre una atención médica discriminatoria que conlleva una baja adherencia y/o malos resultados de los tratamientos, el aplazamiento de la búsqueda de servicios de salud, entre otros. Los estudiosos señalan la brecha existente en la formación de los profesionales de la salud para actuar con competencia cultural en las necesidades específicas de esta población. Con el objetivo de contribuir a las iniciativas dirigidas a la cualificación profesional y a la mejora en la atención de la salud de los MSG, este estudio tuvo como objetivo describir lo que se ha discutido y desarrollado en relación a las competencias culturales para los profesionales de la salud que trabajan con MSG. Se trata de una revisión integradora de la literatura, realizada en la Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) en los últimos cinco años (2019-2024). Los resultados demuestran una concentración del tema en dos categorías: 1) Artículos que discuten la Competencia Cultural o equivalente a nivel teórico para promover un servicio de salud inclusivo y 2) Artículos que informan sobre el desarrollo práctico de la Competencia Cultural o equivalente (capacitación del personal, acciones educativas, módulos educativos) para promover un servicio de salud inclusivo.
