Abstract

The author describes the relationships between philosophy and physiology trying to show that both appeared simultaneously. He examines the concept of desire through the etymology of the terms since antiquity to name several types of desire always linked to sexuality except in the etymology of the word in late Latin language. He concludes, through the neuroscience that he could find a "physical" translation for emotions, motivations, behaviors through the evolution of the knowledge and of the methodologies used to come to truths that are always revealed temporal and to be better.
