Abstract

This study adresses how masculinity is build in modern society. We understand that media has an important
roll in the way as identity is form, influencing costumes and habits, contributing in ways to propagate the prevailing ideology of modern society. For such study, the content from the index of three online men magazines was specificalyy categorized between the period of september 2010 and june 2012. The results suggest the coexistence of various topics related to the universe of the contemporary man, emphasizing Style, Culture & Leisure, and Sex as important indicators of construction of masculinity in contemporary society.
