Abstract

Sexual dysfunctions are characterized by difficulty in experiencing sexual satisfaction due to impairments in sexual response and pleasure perception, which causes distress. Numerous complaints experienced within the realm of sexuality do not meet the diagnostic criteria to be classified as a dysfunction, even though they trigger significant negative repercussions and are considered sexual complaints. Research indicates that psychotherapy is an effective intervention in the treatment of female sexual dysfunctions (FSD), conducted individually and/or in groups. Given the high prevalence of FSD, the lack of national literature, and the limited availability of psychotherapeutic groups, this article analyzed the sociodemographic profile, sexual function levels, and sexual satisfaction of Brazilian women interested and not interested in participating in online psychotherapeutic groups (OPG) to treat FSD. Data were obtained through a sociodemographic questionnaire and the instruments Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and Quociente Sexual Feminino (QSF). The results indicated that women who are mixed-race, working part-time, with income below one minimum wage, who have suffered sexual violence, relationship dissatisfaction, and low scores on the FSFI and FSQ, are more interested in OPG.
